Not a bad place but a few gotchas. The bedroom on the front of the house has very little light control so when the sun comes up it’s bright. The guest bath has no water pressure. The tv is old and constantly glitches. The coffee maker is a regular pot and not a k cup and there are no filters provided so you have to deal with that. The bathroom had a used band aid stuck to the wall which was gross.
Perfect spot if you want to be at the beach away from the crowds. It’s about 1.5 miles from the center of Folly Beach, so a little distance from restaurants, etc., but only a block or two from the beach itself. Would stay at this location again.
Folly Beach is such a great little beach island. I loved The Hideaway for its closeness to the beach (just a few blocks) and the quiet neighborhood away from the busier downtown area. Not many hooks to hang clothes on, and no closets (just a heads up if it's a longer stay), but a nice kitchen, comfy bed, and it was easy to park. The downtown area is about a 3-mile round-trip walk, which was nice to do either on the beach or on the street. We hopped over the bridge into Charleston for dinner that wasn't far at all. And took a dolphin cruise over to Morris Island with 'Flipper Finders'. That was fun, I recommend them. Ultimately, for us it was about relaxing, and that we did...
